Twice a year Spring and Autumn, our bodies react to the changing seasons and decide to shed our hair faster than usual to adjust to the change of temperature and increase of sunlight hopefully! including our Lashes.

Unfortunately this means that your lashes will fall out faster than usual, meaning that your lash extensions may not last quite as long as normal and may need your infills slightly sooner than normal. Here is the science behind it, two major factors are thought to be involved in seasonal hair loss, and they both involve hormones, it’s the first exposure to sunlight even if you do spend time outdoors because of the lack of sunlight during winter this can lead to your body producing less melatonin this interferes with the levels in your scalp that push hair follicles to naturally shedding more. The other major factor is the effect on testosterone which are normally a lot higher in spring and autumn . even though this is a man thing we have it in women which will trigger hair loss.

Not to worry though as this will only last for only one or two lash cycles and your lashes will be back to normal before you know it!!

Prior to lash extension at Guys N Dolls you will need a patch test 24 hour before treatment. We need you to come to the salon with clean make up and oil free lashes, Your therapist will discuss with you the length and curl that you would like and will look at your lash to advice you what will be best for you. After your treatment we advise that you keep your lashes dry for at least 24 hours, that you comb them gently every morning, we will supply you with a small wand for this, No mascara should be used on these lashes. You will need to have infills every 2-3 weeks to replace the lashes that have naturally been shed.
