Anti-wrinkle injections work by stopping the nerves that contract the muscles, thereby smoothing the appearance of the line or wrinkle. The skin above the muscles appears softer & smoother, this can take up to 14 days. As the product takes time to settle into the facial muscles and nerve endings, this allows time for the product to get to work.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does It Hurt?

The treatment is considered relatively painless by the majority of patients. You will feel a little twinge or sting but generally, this is the extent of the sensation. In the case of anti-wrinkle injections, a tiny needle is used so you only feel a little scratch.

Is It Safe?

Botox is safe to use long term, and you can stop using it at any time without your skin looking worse than it did before you started Botox. Botox injections use forms of botulinum toxin to paralyse muscle activity temporarily.

Are there any side affects?

You may experience some mild redness and tenderness in the treatment area immediately after the procedure and notice mild bumps in the appearance of a tiny bee sting, however, this will normally fade within a few hours.

What can I expect?

Before the treatment, you will have a consultation to ensure that you are comfortable with the procedure and that all of your questions are answered. Your practitioner will mark areas of your face – this is done to highlight the correct injection sites required.

After the treatment, we advise that you remain upright for at least 6 hours to ensure the botulinum toxin remains in the area of the injected site.
